Main Classification of Common Clothing Fabrics

Clothing fabrics are closely related to our daily life, and there are several kinds of common clothing fabrics in our life:

1. Linen

Hemp cloth is a kind of cloth made of hemp, flax, ramie, jute, sisal, banana and other plant fibers. It is generally used to make casual clothes and work clothes. At present, it is mostly used to make ordinary summer clothes. Its advantages are high strength, moisture absorption, heat conduction and good air permeability. Its disadvantage is that it is not comfortable to wear, rough appearance, stiff.

2. Cotton cloth

Cotton cloth is the general name of all kinds of cotton textiles. It is mostly used for fashion, casual wear, underwear and shirts. Its advantages are easy to keep warm, gentle and close to the body, moisture absorption and good air permeability. Its shortcoming is that it is easy to shrink and wrinkle, and its appearance is not very elegant and beautiful. It must be ironed regularly when it is worn.

3. Leather

Leather is tanned animal fur fabric. It is mostly used to make fashion and winter clothes. It can also be divided into two categories: one is leather, that is, leather after dehairing treatment. The second is fur, which is treated leather with fur. Its advantages are light and warm, graceful and luxurious. Its disadvantage is that it is expensive and requires high storage and nursing, so it is not suitable for popularization.

4. Chemical fibers

Chemical fibers are short for chemical fibers. It is a kind of textile made of high molecular compound as raw material. Usually it can be divided into artificial fibers and synthetic fibers. Their common advantages are bright colors, soft texture, draping and straightening, smooth and comfortable. Their shortcomings are wear resistance, heat resistance, moisture absorption, poor air permeability, easy to deform when heated, easy to generate static electricity. Although it can be used to make all kinds of clothes, the overall grade is not high and it is difficult to get into the hall of elegance.

5. Blend

Blend is a fabric made of natural fibers and chemical fibers in a certain proportion, which can be used to make various garments. Its advantage is that it not only absorbs the advantages of cotton, hemp, silk, wool and chemical fibers, but also avoids their shortcomings as far as possible, and is relatively cheap in value, so it is very popular.

6. Silk

Silk is a general term for all kinds of silk fabrics made from silk. Like cotton cloth, it has many varieties and different personalities. It can be used to make all kinds of clothes, especially for women's clothes. Its advantages are light, fit, soft, smooth, breathable, colorful, lustrous, noble and elegant, comfortable to wear. Its shortcomings are easy to crease, suck, not strong enough and fade quickly.

7. Wool

Wool, also known as wool, is a general term for fabrics made of various kinds of wool and cashmere. It is usually suitable for making formal and high-grade clothes such as dresses, suits, overcoats and so on. Its advantages are wrinkle resistance, wear resistance, soft feel, elegance and straightness, elasticity and strong warmth retention. Its disadvantage is that it is difficult to wash and is not suitable for making summer clothes.
